Somehow I have a copy of Le Rendez-Vous, it must have happened around the time I was working in the French Alps. Clearing out some excess books meant that it came to light the other week, and reading the introduction it has a real resonance with what I find interesting and stimulating. To work out an English lesson that it fits into has a nice feel to it.
Looking around, La Belle captive, might be even more accessible, a work where a series of paintings by Magritte are taken as impetus for a book by Robbe-Grillet. The link is to Ben Stoltzfus' November 2005 essay La Belle captive: Magritte's Surrealism, Robbe-Grillet's Metafiction.
